Jul 05th 2019

Viva Aerobus selects DocuNet to provide a complete document management solution and to support document users with a comprehensive publishing and viewing application.

Mexican ultra-low-cost carrier, Viva Aerobus, has selected Vistair to implement its leading document management solution, DocuNet, for the management, control and distribution of both flight operations and engineering manuals.

Based in Monterrey, Viva Aerobus offers a wide range of domestic and international flights, operating more than 110 routes to 45 different destinations. The carrier currently operates the most modern fleet in Mexico, composed of 20 Airbus A320ceo and 10 Airbus A320neo aircraft.

The airline has experienced a period of unprecedented growth since commencing operations in 2006, having announced the purchase of 25 additional new Airbus A321neo aircraft in 2018 and 16 up-conversions of A320neos to A321neos to their existing purchase agreement . The Mexican carrier is now regarded as one of the fastest growing and dynamic airlines in the region.

As a progressive and ambitious airline, Viva Aerobus has a focus on continuous improvement and innovation for their operational systems and tools. Identifying and partnering with reputable and expert aviation suppliers is a key strand of this strategy.

Humberto Flores, Operations Management Director at Viva Aerobus comments: “We needed an efficient and scalable document management system that would significantly reduce staff time spent on managing, distributing and publishing manuals in different formats.

Managing manuals across the Viva Aerobus operation needs to be well-organized and transparent. We wanted a solution that would facilitate this and provide a holistic view of the status of the manual suite whilst being accessible via both EMBs and EFBs.

As a managed service, DocuNet’s enterprise solution delivers a cost-effective and scalable platform that supports document management simplification, whilst supporting an airline’s drive for ongoing revenue improvement opportunities and enhanced service delivery.

Humberto added: “We have been extremely pleased with the responsiveness, speed, and flexibility of the Vistair team since our first correspondence.”

By implementing the DocuNet managed service, Viva Aerobus’ amendment instructions are now passed directly to the Vistair team through a simple online process with no requirement for any purchase of any additional software and minimal user familiarisation.

Ian Herbert, CEO at Vistair comments: “It is fantastic to receive the Viva Aerobus’ vote of confidence for DocuNet and we are thrilled to be working with such a dynamic airline. They have such ambitious plans for their business and it will be a pleasure supporting them.

Viva Aerobus is a hugely successful airline and our first client in Latin America. I really believe DocuNet will make a huge difference to their business. Equally this relationship will help Vistair showcase our document management to the Latin American Market.”

As part of the partnership with Vistair, Viva Aerobus will benefit from DocuNet’s future-proof technology. This involves upgrades and enhancements to make sure that the DocuNet managed service supports their operational needs both now and in the future.
