Matthew Spindler has joined Vistair as the new Product Director SMS where he will focus upon driving Vistair’s safety management system suite forward. He has full responsibility for SafetyNet, RiskNet, QualityNet, ASIMS and Vistair Intelligence development. This is a significant change in the organisation and will provide a clear focus on the heightened interest and development taking place with our SMS product range and our SMS client base.

Previously Head of Software Engineering at Veritas Technologies LLC / Symantec, Matthew has extensive strategic and technical expertise in the field of software design and development. His 25+ year career in the field alongside his knowledge and demonstrable track record of delivering key software products makes him perfectly equipped to take the product base forward.

Matthew comments: “The opportunities for Vistair’s SMS suite are enormous and working in an organisation that has already developed some of the sector’s leading safety management system solutions made the decision to join a very easy one. I’m looking forward to building upon the foundations already in place.”

As Vistair has grown both in terms of its product development and client base there was a need to expand the capabilities of its team, to strengthen the leadership and to provide a platform to increase investment in its technology bases.

To coincide with this appointment Vistair is also increasing its investment in its leading aviation document management service, DocuNet, and its CrewNet product base. Gill Love, previously Head of Development Services at Vistair, has now taken on the role of Head of DocuNet Development where she will have responsibility for managing and building the team that will develop DocuNet, its acclaimed mobile technology and UserNet. This is also a significant move for Vistair and one that will ensure that DocuNet remains the leading aviation document management service in the industry.

Ian Herbert, CEO, Vistair comments: “These changes will enhance our products and client experience and help us deliver our vision of continuing to create world-beating intuitive and transformational products that deliver true value to our airline clients. This is an exciting time for Vistair.

“Our stated software philosophy is to help airlines increase user engagement which in turn will increase compliance, efficiency and safety throughout the sector. I believe this evolution will undoubtedly support this goal.”

Established in 2001 Vistair has built up a considerable reputation in the aviation sector with a client base of significant weight that includes amongst others British Airways, Delta Air Lines, easyJet, Norwegian and Qantas. With this renewed focus upon product development, Vistair is looking to ensure not only continued product innovation but to increase client numbers.
